It is literally the 3rd highest behind the PWMK1 and the F4(weird).
The stats of the Harrier don't look amazing at a glance either, but in practice it's steller roll rate is all you need. Depending on the mission I would take one set of normal gun pods and 2 sets of rocket pods if its a ground heavy mission and vice versa if its air heavy. They even saved my ass against the final boss by chunking his health by like half a bar per hit. Once you learn how to aim them, you can snipe fighters, one-shot destroyers and airships, and generally wreak shit. The burst pods are just as insane but in a more concentrated explosive package. Nothing is more satisfying than hovering next to a large cluster of ground targets and mowing them down. Machine guns are ridiculous in this game, especially considering you don't need to worry about aces dodging your shots if you aim correctly.
I used it for every mission (save for maybe one) on my initial hard campaign after I bought it.Īt first glance its loadout options look kinda trash, but it doesn't need anything else besides the burst fire rockets and gunpods. I was going to switch off it once I had enough for the Chimera, but I decided to just save the money since the Harrier could not be stopped. Obviously I'm not including the PWMK1 or maybe one or two of the other more bonkers prototype planes, but holy shit does the Harrier tear it up.
